With the news that Saqlain has now thrown his name into the PCB Coach candidates list, it would appear that if chosen, we could have
Head Coach: Waqar Younis
Batting Coach: Inzamam ( or another prominent Pakistani batsman)
Spin Consultant: Legendary Spin bowler - Saqlain
Question is - is that the smartest way forward? Will the Head Coach then be left keeping the peace with humongous egos that will control each of the areas?
Dilemma indeed for PCB!
With the recent success of the IPL in the UAE, do you think it would be a good idea to host the CLT20 there too?
But which ODI series win is most valuable?
I am in two minds with this.
I enjoyed both, SA series win was historic. As soon as the game finished I knew we just created history, it was that kind of moment.
However the India series win was perhaps dulled by the fact we won so easily. Always satisfied with winning in India so I am not sure.
Shoaib's spoken a lot about the problems he had with his knees during his playing days and how he suffered throughout his career with these issues. He's also spoken about how he had to take painkillers etc to combat the pain and how his body was not cut out for international sport.
Taking into account the problems he had with his knees, do you feel that Shoaib Akhtar did justice to the cricketing talent and skills he had at his disposal?
Ahmed Shehzad and Khurram Manzoor played the last Test series against Sri Lanka in UAE. Both have some good decent innings in that series, especially from Shehzad scored his first ton in Test cricket and Manzoor had some fifties there.
The question is should we retain these two for the next Test series in Sri Lanka?
Are monster bats giving unfair advantage to batsmen or is it simply a case of batsmen being physically stronger now?
Which do you prefer? Departmental? In a land where earning a livelihood and financial stability is much needed - these teams provide for that and allow cricketers to play the game also. On the other hand you don't have the crowds, the loyalty and you don't get the young guns coming through. PCB as I understand is actually contemplating combining the two which I think would be an amazing move by them, relatively speaking. Teams will be regional but will be sponsored by the departments that have served the nation's cricketers for a long time. So what do you guys think?
With Gambhirs recent string of low scores, do you think his career at the international level is over?
I am starting to believe that contracts in Cricket have become meaningless, although I 100% agree that Mohammad Akram was a terrible coach, where is the accountability on the people who appointed him? 2 year contract was simply shoved aside. While we wanted Akram out, is this the proper ethical way?
