Its sort of consensus now that Afridi is worst possible no. 7. If Pakistan team management keeps Afridi playing at No. 7, than its going to bring Pakistan more trouble. Keeping WC'15 in mind, Afridi's batting on Australian bouncy wickets will be an utter mess... So its time for every one to realize that he is ONLY a specialist bowler..
Should he be dropped from the team altogether or perhaps dropped down the order?
Play 500 ODIs, score 10,000 runs and take 500 wickets?
Currently he has played 375 ODIs, scored 7,500 runs and 378 wickets Afridi is 33, so a lot of cricket left in him.
Number six in ODIs is a bating position where batsmen rarely get a chance (e.g. enough overs) to score ODI 100s. Only 34 100s have been scored in 6019 innings (at #6) of 3475 ODI.till this date.
These 34 100s have been scored by 30 batsmen. The most 100s at #6 hit by any batsman is 2. Three batsmen had already done that. Umar Akmal joined the list yesterday.
How long are we gonna stand this embarassment from his batting? When was the last time Afridi performed in a big tournament with the bat. I think its been forever.
The Commentators of the Indian panel are consistently poking fun at him. And when it comes to the big tournaments( and please note I am talking the recently conducted ones)
It's a strange situation here Pakistan is not good in chasing while India is very good in chasing so what should Misbah do if he win the toss on Sunday? Looking at the dew factor i think Misbah should bowl first if he somehow manage to win the toss.
I think the 3 candidates to be dropped for Fawad Alam are:
1) Mohammad Hafeez
2) Sohaib Maqsood
3) Anwar Ali
Who would you drop for Fawad Alam? My vote is for Anwar Ali.
How long Sharjeel Khan will last in ODI team? His average is in 20s now.
This is his record so far:
* After 1 inning: 61 average, 100 strike rate
* After 2 innings: 34 average, 101.49 strike rate
* After 3 innings: 23.33 average, 88.60 strike rate
* After 4 innings: 20.75 average, 87.36 strike rate
