India is like a second home to many Cricket stars. Players from around the world have now played a lot of cricket in India and have learnt to win in Indian and sub-continent conditions.
As Pakistan resumed Day 4 in their Test vs Zimbabwe, they were sitting on 395/7, with Wasim Akram on 144* and Saqlain Mushtaq on 37*. Earlier, Zimbabwe had put up a competitive total in their first innings, scoring 375 runs.
Congratulations to the winner of this week's "Post of the Week" award winner - endymion248 - for his fantastic opening post in the "Influence on the team average: Asad Shafiq vs Umar Akmal" thread!
There are very few batsmen/bowlers who have been successful in all three formats. To name one batsman/bowler, who will you go with?
I remember Shahid Afridi, stating in an interview, sometime post 2003 world cup, that Pakistan needs genuine quick bowlers and Wasim would not have the same economy rate, had he bowled against him.
That makes me more eager to know how quick were they at their peak ? Unfortunately, I didn't have the privilege of watching them at their peak.
A bowler like no other but who amongst the other bowlers that came after him can claim to be close to his stature?
He has scored 840 runs in 17 ODIs with an average of 60 and a Strike Rate of 95. He is scoring a 50 in every other match and almost all his 80+ scores are with a SR of 100+
!
Will it ever happen? Amazing to see that this ground has not one century for the home team!
