Former England coach & TV commentator David Lloyd along with former captain Michael Vaughan feel that harsher punishments are needed for ball tampering
Misbah becomes the 1st batsman to cross the 1500 run barrier in international cricket in 2013.Sixteen 50s & one 100 in 2013!
After being defeated by India by an innings and 70 runs in their first ever Test match, Pakistan showed they were quick-learners by turning around in their second match and crushed the same opponent by an innings and 43 runs.
So DRS was brought in essentially for teams in theory to use to counter act the possible howler decisions from Umpires. When we played england in the UAE, the team think tank Captain, Keeper, Bowler seemed to get the hand of using DRS and using reviews at the right times and in most cases, it was rightly used.
Now we come to current situation of how the reviews have been used in the S.A series and its been comical and pathetic.
A situation like this just highlights that this isn't the best approach. They are by far and away our best batsmen, but coming out with the score on 2/2 just doesn't make sense.
For a guy who was thought to break down easily, Mohammad Irfan has bowled like a workhorse against the South Africans in the Dubai heat. The guy has proved his critics wrong and that he CAN survive at the Test level in terms of fitness. He is also unlucky, should have had AB first ball had Adnan not dropped him.
Do Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq deserve a place in the team with their recent form suggesting otherwise? And on what basis are players selected?
A wonderful all-rounder but has his time come? Should he stay a while longer or leave when he is still on top?
The ball tampering controversy surrounding South African team in Dubai may have exposed weaknesses in ICCs regulations for such issues - are they too tough or too lenient?
I have been a massive follower of Junaid even before he got picked for the 2011 WC, i have rarely missed a single game of his either domestic or international. I have always believed that Junaid has the potential to carry the Pakistan attack for the years to come, and i have always believed that he will be mentioned alongside other great Fast Bowlers. During the India series my belief got even more solid as Junaid destroyed the Indian batting order in Chennai, but ever since then his career has gone downhill. I must admit i ignored his flaws but the recent series have made me think that is Junaid really an exceptional bowler.
