Current lineup unfortunately does not have a match winner in its ranks except for Misbah but are there other players who could make this dream team of match winners?

Insipid in its outlook - outgunned and out-thought, this Australian batting side for the ODIs looks hopelessly out of its depth.

He turns 56 today. Here's wishing Javed Miandad a very Happy Birthday and best of luck for the year ahead!

What's your favorite Miandad innings?

A user writes the following about Mohammad Hafeez:

After 120 ODIs, he averages 27 with a SR of 69 and the worst part is, 78 of his matches have come in Asia and in Zimbabwe and Ireland which is equivalent to 65%, and he averages in the 20's there as well.

Quite a few posters suggest it would be better off if he is demoted down the order. I am not sure how that serves as a solution. A batsman with a trash track record as his cannot be trusted with any role at any position. Besides, he isn't used to it either at any level.

Besides, if he has failed to do decently at positions he has played at for over a 100 games, how can he be trusted to adjust to a completely new role?

Pakistan's performance in the Champions Trophy events has been rather symmetrical.

1998: First round
2000: Semi finalists
2002: First round
2004: Semi finalists
2006: First round
2009: Semi finalists
2013: First round

Misbah-ul-haq the batsman has been head and shoulders above his fellow batsmen in this tournament, especially with Umer Akmal sitting out. Misbah is an excellent leader on the field, making good changes, setting thoughtful fields and fielding himself like a 20 year old kid.

There is however another side to Misbah. For all his traits which make him stand out from almost all Pakistani captains, ever, he has one trait typical of a Pakistani captain - the batting mindset.

In the end it was a very poor batting performance by Pakistan with shot selection and general attitude a problem that cost them the match.

Pakistan need to realize that sooner than later and concentrate on our batsmen - the bowling will look after itself
