Mention the name Qadir to any cricket fan, current player and former player and it conjures up an image of a hop, skip and jump and then a sudden whirlwind release of the cricket ball.
Abdul Qadir had a certain mystique about him and its rumoured that he could bowl 6 different deliveries in an over. Flippers, googlies, top spinners, leggies were no problem at all to Qadir.
Pakistani off spinner Saeed Ajmal and left arm medium fast bowler Sohail Tanvir have both left KRL and joined ZTBL.
The move which comes into effect immediately means that both players will be available for ZTBL in the forthcoming Quaid e Azam Trophy matches, which are due to commence on 10th October.
Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net former Pakistan wicketkeeper Rashid Latif stated that he will be working with Pakistan pace bowler Mohammad Asif ahead of the training camp scheduled to start later this week.
"I'll be meeting Asif tomorrow in Karachi ahead of the training camp which is due to start on 12th September" stated Rashid.
Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net Pakistan, KRL and Sussex all rounder Yasir Arafat stated that he was really looking forward to playing for Sussex in the Champions League in October.
Yasir who is part of a 20 man squad named by Sussex which includes Piyush Chawla and Dwayne Smith, stated “It should be a fantastic tournament and I’m really looking forward to it.
Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net Pakistan medium fast bowler Mohammad Asif stated that he had learnt his lessons of the past.
"There will be no mistakes this time around" said Asif. "I am extremely happy and grateful that I am back in the Pakistan team and I want to work hard and justify the decision by the selectors".
Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net chief selector Iqbal Qasim stated that Muhammad Asif was selected after some close monitoring by the selectors".
Qasim stated "Obviously when you are selecting a team for any tournament you always keep in mind the proifle of the tournament, venue, weather, bahaviour of the pitches and bounce. All these factors were considered before final selection".
