Pakistan are likely to play 77 Tests till January 2023 and will see an increase in the volume of cricket with arch-rivals India as per the latest version of FTP which is available with ESPNcricinfo. There are players who will sacrifice personal milestone to play according to situation, and there are players who cause run rate so slow only to avoid putting milestone in danger which doesn't help the team at the end.
There are lots of example where selfish miletones cost lots of matches for the team.
Anyhow, i would pick match winner over selfish century maker anytime. The examples of match match winners like Inzimam, Steve Waugh, Bevan and more.
