What do you reckon how Pakistan team will perform if Inzamam-ul-Haq is appointed as the head coach? Do you think he is good enough to do well for the team or he should be hired only for batting coach position?
Pakistan and South Africa played 25 international cricket matches against each other this year. Is this a record? Is it an over kill of a contest?
Not the most stylish player or the most exciting to watch, Misbah ul Haq never enjoyed the same fan following as some of the other Pakistan cricketers. However, there is no doubt that he has held the Pakistan batting together over the last few years.
Has his performance caused a changed in how you viewed him as a player?
Both top spinners, but which one is the best?
Here are your picks -
1. Sir Garry Sobers
2. Sir Viv Richards
3. Sachin Tendulkar
I think these 3 batsman make the strongest claim for the honor slightly ahead of guys like Lara, Sunny, Pollock, B. Richards, George Headley, etc.
My pick would be Garry Sobers. Lots of ex players and experts who have seen Sobers bat claim that he's the best batsman they've seen. Ian Chappell, Geoffrey Boycott, Martin Crowe are among those who consider Sobers to be the best batsman.
I'd like to know the opinion of my fellow posters. Who among them would you rate as the best batsman of the post war era?
Aside from the ongoing feud between Shoaib Akhtar and Shahid Afridi, one aspect of what Akhtar said has rather been ignored.
Akhtar hinted that there were more players who had been involved in corrupt activities in Pakistani cricketing circles. Whilst he didn't name names, this comment could in theory open up a can of worms if looked into by the ICC and PCB.
Misbah made 3rd most runs & a higher average than de Villiers & Amla during the qualifying period yet he doesn't make the ICC ODI team of the year!
