This series could well be over, results wise, by today. But after watching Cook's captaincy I have to say I've been rather displeased by his negativity. 

From showing no attacking desire to stop leaking runs when the Aussies were scoring freely, to his shocking overrate, and now this chase.

I saw posts few weeks ago stating how defensive minded he was, but I played ignorant. Yet watching him closely, I have to judge him and state his captaincy has been poor, very poor.

Now on the other hand you have Clarke, whom some like and some don't, but you cannot tell me fans don't respect his attacking captaincy. I love to see my captain be so attacking, and as the saying goes "Fortune favours the brave".

But the issue is, Clarke the attacking captain could well lose the Ashes come what today evening if not earlier, yet the winner would be Cookie whose leading of the team, however defensive minded could well put him in the annals of history.

I for one will always go with the Australian because of his mindset. Cook may well be the most successful captain England have ever produced, but it won't hide the fact his nature of captaincy has been grating.

Bowlers averaging 30 should be discarded, broad for one should be the first to go because he is highly inconsistent.If england want to be a dominating test team they need 2 consistent bowlers that average less or around the 25 mark to support anderson that will also help anderson because i can imagine what anderson feels going into a test match with bresnan and broad as the support bowlers.They should play finn and tremlett and also invest in another youngster.
