Firstly, I'd like to wish a very happy birthday to Umar Akmal, who turned 23 today.
Now, on to the business; there's a very pronounced divide amongst the posters here at PakPassion when it comes to Umar Akmal. There are countless blind supporters who acknowledge the undeniable talent that is Umar Akmal, and then there is the other party that sees the faults, namely a lack of temperament.
I belong somewhere in the middle. & here comes the statement which our whole Indian community will rebut with their lives.
Umar Akmal, has the tools to easily surpass Tendulkar as an ODI batsman; he lacks the temperament to achieve similar feats in tests, and most likely won't ever reach him in that respect.
We've seen in the last few games who's performing and who's not and I think it gives us somewhat of an idea on who should be playing and who shouldn't.
What's your take?
This isn't a knee jerk reaction, but a reaction to the 5000 and counting runs and 11 hundreds as well as a plethora of match winning / saving knocks under pressure.
Point is, we all know he is a terrible WK and we all hope a better alternative comes along sooner than later, but the truth is at the moment there is no better option in the country.
Irish commentator was speaking regarding the Pakistani fans in attendance of the 2nd ODI vs. Ireland.
Commentated that it was her opinion that Pakistan fans are fans of cricket and will applaud any great shot or performance, regardless of nation.
Do you agree?
How do you think the fans will be towards opposing teams during the Champions Trophy?
* Pakistan were finalists in inaugural ICC World Twenty20, 2007/08.
* Winners in ICC World Twenty20, 2009
* Semi Finalists in ICC Champions Trophy, 2009/10
* Semi Finalists in ICC World T20, 2010
* Semi Finalists ICC Cricket World Cup, 2011
* Semi Finalists in ICC World Twenty20 2012
He's become the 18th Pakistani to reach the milestone of 100 wickets in one day internationals.
Who do you see as the leader of the bowling attack for Pakistan in the Champions Trophy?
Who will Misbah turn to when he is on the need to stem the flow of runs or pick up a couple of wickets?
I've seen India fans do it (and much more) many times.
Australia fans slate their players and boo when losing.
West Indies fans can be hilariously fair-weather.
England, Pakistan and New Zealand seem to almost enjoy losing, especially England fans who sing louder when they're taking a beating.
I'd never boo my side, although I would have a shout at a player who was obviously uncommitted in the field.
If Pakistan don't perform well in any of their games, would you boo 'em?
