Looking at Umar Amin bat, he seems to be good to watch on the eye, but I have huge qualms over is ability. He was given 4 tests to prove himself in England in 2010 and he scored 99 runs. Then I thought maybe he has fixed his technical capabilities and performed in the domestic circuit but he has an average of 32 in List A. I don’t think an average of 32 deserves a place in our international team, and also in the latest match against Scotland he scored 3 of 12 balls, and then because of pressure he went for a slog and got out. IMO I think he took the place of Harris Sohail.

There was lots of screaming and shouting for fans wanting to take pictures with the Pakistani players yesterday in Edinburgh, particularly as they never saw their heroes in action.

Most of the players went over to the fans to pose for pictures and sign autographs which was a nice gesture.

What interested me and really pleased me was when Shoaib Malik when he started posing for pictures went straight to a couple of fans in wheelchairs before any of the other fans.

Small gesture but really pleasing to see.

A major occasion in the cricketing calendar for Cricket Scotland was ruined due to a wet outfield and parts of the square being dangerous due to water seeping under the covers. Heavy downpours the day before meant that the Pakistanis were understandably reluctant to risk injury ahead of the Champions Trophy.

In a team game where several vital functions are needed for a team to do well and win against its opponents, what is the most difficult job in cricket?  Is it that of a spinner, fast bowler, opening batsmen, middle-order batsmen, wicket-keeper, or perhaps someone else?

Junaid.

Junaid Khan that is.

Being asked to lead the attack with Mohammad Irfan, the 23-year old will be asked to put a lot on his shoulders. Having never played an ODI in England, it will be crucial for Pakistan's chances in the tournament that Junaid be able to take wickets with the new ball and provide break-throughs in a partnership when his captain throws him the ball.
