Irfan or Mohammed Irfan - know and learn that name as he will be a handful for most batsmen this summer in England!

After a long time, we now have a weapon of mass destruction (for batting lineups) as he amply demonstrated in India and South Africa.

A visit by an Irish team to Pakistan could make a have a huge bearing on return of cricket to Pakistan

Who is the best ever medium pacer. If you keep the cutoff speed of <85mph than the following bowlers would be considered in the category:

Alec Bedser,
Fazal Mahmood,
Kapil Dev
Richard Hadlee
Glenn McGrath
Terry Alderman

Who, in your opinion, was a better bowler?

Jeff Thomson

Avg in Tests - 28 , Away - 33.49. Home - 24.98 in 51 matches

Avg in ODI's - 35.30

Shoaib Akhtar

Avg in Tests - 25.69, Away - 27.32. Home - 26.48. Neutral - 16.85 in 46 matches

Avg in ODI's - 24.97

Both were express pace bowlers.

I havn't seen Thomson bowl apart from a few videos on YT, but based purely on stats Akhtar seems like a better bowler.

Maybe someone who has seen both can give us a better comparison?

Very good well balanced attack,
Economical spinner, 1 Economical Fast Bowler who can pick up wickets and 2 Strike bowlers.

I'd rate this Test Attack better than the Pakistan,Srilankan,Indian and Australian attacks, mainly because all the above attacks aren't very balanced.
Pakistan lack a quality 2nd and 3rd Seamer.
Australia lack an economical Spinner and their 3rd Seamer is usually very expensive.
Srilanka lack a quality 1st,2nd and 3rd Seamer.
India lack a quality 2nd and 3rd Seamer.

Probably the 3rd Best attack in the world behind RSA and England.

Also would have done much better in RSA a few months ago if the current team was playing as Southee would have been very handy in RSA.

But, maybe i am overrating them.

Do you think the above writer is?

Coming into the Champions Trophy as the 4th ranked ODI team on the ICC rankings, South Africa face similar questions to those they have been answering for the past 15 years. Sure, we all know they are a great team, but can they get out of their own way in a ICC Tournament?

349 runs in his last 7 ODIs at an average of just under 70 for the skipper.

He's obviously Pakistan's in form batsman and will be one of Pakistan's key batsmen at the Champions Trophy.

In my opinion the skipper and coach should seriously consider batting at number 4 in the Champions Trophy.

Looks like the the Pakistani team selectors have made the wrong decisions leaving out experienced players.

I don't believe we will score more than 250 runs in any match during the CT, I hope I'm proven wrong.

What are your thoughts
