I have noticed many times people saying that Pakistan is tailor made team for T20Is or T20Is are made for Pakistan because their batsmen love to hit every ball or they got big hitters or T20 specialist batsmen etc...
But in reality it's totally different you know why?
The reason Pakistan won most of the T20Is is bowling not batting. Pakistan got the best W/L ratio in T20Is because of bowling let's see bowling stats of different T20 teams:
Check out the stats here:
A good start to Pakistan's campaign, albeit in a warmup. The bowlers restricted New Zealand to a gettable score and Kamran Akmal's form at the top of the order was pleasing to see. Sohail Tanvir is perhaps the only major concern as he continues to go for runs in this form of the game. Pakistan will need to decide quickly whether or not he is the ideal man to take the new ball as well as to bowl at the death.
The tourney doesn't really start until the 21st with Pakistan vs India. Although, I do have a slight interest in the Bangladesh vs Afghanistan game. Do you think the organisers have messed up with the scheduling. How can a minnow qualifier be a part of the initial world cup matches? It doesn't create the momentum or impact in the tourney at all. What a dull start it will be for this world cup. Will this cause fans to lose interest?
They could achieve a similar level in a few year's time and there is already a lot of rivalry between players, be it on field or in interviews. If you go by this forum, the supporters don't seem to hold each other in their hearts either. It could up the stakes for future qualification rounds and tours.
